Affiliate disclosure
How saint-barth.org makes money, and why it does not change what we recommend.
The short version
saint-barth.org is free to read and carries no display advertising. To support the work, the site uses affiliate links. If you click one and go on to book or buy something, we may receive a small commission. It costs you nothing extra. The price is the same as going direct.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is an ordinary link with a tracking code attached. When you book a rental car, a tour, an activity or a place to stay through one of our links, the partner can see the visit came from us and pays a referral commission on the booking.
We use affiliate links for services such as car rental, tours and activities, and accommodation. These are the same services we would recommend to a friend anyway.
It does not change our recommendations
This is the important part. We decide what to recommend first, and look at whether an affiliate link exists second. We do not rank a beach, a restaurant or a service higher because it pays us, and businesses cannot buy their way into our guides. If the best option for you has no affiliate link, that is still the option we point you to.
How affiliate links are marked
Affiliate links are identified where they appear, for example in the recommendation boxes within our guides, and they carry the appropriate link attributes. The disclosure in the site footer applies across every page.
